ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance for those who served in the Australian Defence Forces from the Boer War to Afghanistan, including all those who are currently deployed on active service. We remember those who paid the supreme sacrifice so that we, and the people of our nation, can live in a safe and peaceful country. We remember those who continue to suffer as a result of the hidden scars long after their duty is completed and the families of whose grief and sense of loss can never be eased.
The ANZAC Day Dawn Service lasts approximately 45 minutes and is a non-ticketed event open to all members of the public. The Dawn Service and March will be live streamed. Further details on where you can watch the live stream will be posted soon.
Registration is required if you wish to place a wreath or if you are a member of a group wishing to participate in the march. To register please contact Gerry at the Cairns RSL Sub Branch on (07) 4051 5254 or admin@crslsb.org.au by Friday, 22nd April. After this we will no longer be taking registrations. Please note: In regulation with our COVID safety plan – only two representatives from an organisation or school will be allowed to place a wreath. We appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time.
