Join us on Friday 20 September, at 10 AM at the Peacekeeper Peacemaker Plaque to honour Australia’s proud history of peacekeeping, beginning on 14 September 1947. Since that day, over 66,000 Australians have served in more than 70 operations across 60 countries, with 16 brave souls making the ultimate sacrifice.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Australian service in Timor Leste, which was instrumental in helping Timor Leste achieve peace and independence.
On 20 September, join the Cairns RSL Sub Branch in honouring all Australians who served in Timor Leste, including those who tragically lost their lives.
Let’s come together to remember and pay tribute to all those who have served in these crucial roles.
