Dear Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Members for putting their trust in me to undertake the role of President of the Sub Branch.  I am honoured to be able to take on this role and am sure that your Board has the skills and expertise to be able to take the Sub Branch forward in new directions to be able to better Care For Our Defence Family.

This is the first enhanced eSIT-REP as promised at the AGM. This enhanced eSIT-REP will be published in the week following the Monthly Sub Branch Board Meeting.  In it, you will find the regular overview of recent activities/events undertaken and relevant news regarding your Sub Branch, as well as additional information such as a snapshot of activities at the Board Level.

The new Board met for the first time on the 22nd of June and has determined our priority is enhancing our current Strategic Plan now that the new Board is in place and the Financial Settlement Agreement is finalised.

The development of a budget along with the updated Strategic Plan will determine where the Sub Branch is heading and is key to strategic and financial longevity.

I hope the information provided will give members the assurance that your Board of Directors are operating in the best interest of the members and maintaining the viability of the Sub Branch.

Sub Branch Key Points May 2021

  1. $38K has been spent building expenses and $10K on Legal fees, these impacted on net position, however all other expenses in line with normal operations
  2. Our overall net position has been influenced by the adjustment of the Financial Settlement Agreement.
  3. Your Board is considering alternative revenue streams to provide returns that are in the best interest of the membership.
  4. Your Board has received quotes for major repairs of the Aquarius side of the building and will be applying for a grant to match Sub Branch funding for these much overdue significant repairs.
