On the 28th of June 1919 the Treaty of Versailles was signed. This was the most important of the peace treaties, that brought about the end of the First World War.
To commemorative the 100th Anniversary of the Treaty of Versailles, you are invited to join us for a preview screening of the Armistice Centenary Mini Documentary.
This is a short twenty-minute film produced by the Cairns RSL Sub Branch and was made possible thanks to funding received from the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs under the Armistice Centenary Grants Program.
The film focuses on four local soldiers from our region Private Caleb James Shang DCM & BAR. MM, Private Henry Dalziel VC, Private Ernest Austin Ainscow and Trooper Harry Doyle.
Drinks and canapes will be provided from 6:00 – 6:30pm followed by a preview screening.
