We are excited to announce the reopening of the Kokoda Hall Museum.
Many people do not realise that the Cairns RSL Sub Branch houses a world class Military Museum.
The Kokoda Hall Museum ranks highly with some of the greatest museums in the world. Our museum is the home to a vast collection of war relics, official and private records, art, medals, models, and photographs which are used to relate the story of our nation’s experiences in world wars, regional conflicts and international peacekeeping.
The Kokoda Hall Museum was designed, built and is run by a team of Volunteers who ensure that the memory and records of those who suffered and died for Australia are preserved and passed on to future generations. Many of our Volunteers have been apart of the Museum since its opening in 2015. Our volunteers have a wealth of knowledge to share and are often in the museum ready to tell a story or give a tour.
The Kokoda Hall Museum is also open to School excursion and group booking. To book a tour contact Gerry on 4051 5254.
The museum is always happy to receive donations of relevant military items. The museum team meet every Thursday morning in the Kokoda Hall Museum and are happy to discuss your donation with you.
The Museums opening hours are 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday, unfortunately the museum will not be open on Saturdays until early next year.
